Hachijyo Island

Overview

Hachijojima is the island of the Izu Islands located 290 km south of Tokyo. This island with a maritime climate is influenced by ocean current. Hachijojima is unusual worldwide, we can observe a lots of luminescent mushrooms in the summer.
Also, from around November, humpback whales will gather near the island for childbirth. You can also observe humpback whales from land.
